Abstract

With the objective of evaluating the effectiveness of the antiparasitic Labiomec (ivermectin 1%) in two flocks of Pelibuey sheep, in the town of La Yaya, Guantánamo province, 75 developing sheep were selected, taking coprology samples at days zero, 15 and 30 days. Sending it to the laboratory who confirms the diagnosis, applying the qualitative method by the technique of Flotation, Sedimentation, larvocospic helminth as well as the interpretation of the results. The parasitic family was reported: Strongyloides, Ascaridata, Strongylata, Dityocaulus, Mulleria, the antiparasitic Labiomec (ivermectin 1%) was applied with a dosage of 0.2 mg/kg of body weight subcutaneously for a duration of 1 and on day 21, as results, on day zero, there was an intense parasitic infestation. On day 15 of treatment, the degree of infestation was mild, and on day 30 of treatment, the existing parasites had been eliminated.
