Abstract

A qualitative study was carried out on the potential of MNT (Natural and Traditional Medicine) to contribute to the usefulness of the fragile ecosystems of the Guantanamo territory and to sustainable local development based on the impact demonstrated in sensitive areas of the same, making intensive use and efficiency of the natural resources available in community ecosystems, results that served to form a Master's thesis in Natural and Traditional Medicine.  The reflections presented here are intended to contribute to raising awareness among managers and the general population about the feasibility of this alternative for the sustainable local development of communities.
