Abstract

With the objective of determining the productive potentialities in Non-Wood Forest Products of vegetable origin in ordered areas of the semi-deciduous forest on acidic soil in the town of Moreiros, municipality of II Frente, Santiago de Cuba province.  A study was carried out where the record of 57 forest species was obtained from the listed species present in the forest formation of semi-deciduous forest on acid soil, distributed in 33 botanical families and 53 genera, with 47 trees, 9 shrubs and 1 herbs.  The categories of “foliage / leaves”, in the products, and “medicinal” and “religious use”, in the uses, were determined as significant NTFPs.  The Harvesting Protocol favors good environmental practices in NTFPs established in Andean Biotrade initiatives, based on the sustainability of the natural resource.
