Abstract

Results of the institutional project for the development of intellectual capital, executed by the University of Medical Sciences of Guantánamo, are presented.  With an integration of empirical, theoretical and mathematical statistical methods, the primary information on the management of environmental information was obtained in a group sample of health professionals from Guantanamo.  Current theoretical references and ideas used as foundations in this study were systematized, identifying the scientific problem in how to contribute to strengthening the role of health professionals in the management of environmental information.  The diagnosis of its initial state, suggested the design of an action policy for the development in these professionals of a leading role as environmental information agents.
