Ergonomic risk prevention at the Pueblo Nuevo sawmill industry in Imias municipality

Abstract

With the aim of proposing an ergonomic risk prevention plan, a research work was carried out in the Pueblo Nuevo sawmill industry, in Imias, a municipality of Guantanamo province. The wood utilization process was characterized by applying a survey to operators, technicians, managers and other sawmill industry workers. The ergonomic risks in the Pueblo Nuevo sawmill industry were determined by applying the L.E.S.T. method, an ergonomic global evaluation of working conditions. Taking into consideration the results obtained through the method applied, a risk prevention plan was proposed.
