The articles of this issue bring together studies aimed at the sustainability of the environment and the preservation of the fragile ecosystems that characterize Guantanamo province, by means of proposals which contribute to achieve an agro-ecological culture in producers, the resilience to drought and the use of organic substances in substitution of traditional chemical agents. The special significance includes the studies related to the management of wood resources and the implementation of Thematic Maps in the use of the soil and its physical and chemical characteristics, in order to propitiate higher efficiency in making decisions in the productive areas.
