Abstract

Environmental problems are given by environmental pollution and the proliferation of vectors. The fundamental causes are the lack of environmental culture, climate change, lack of investments for treatment systems, poor hygiene and poor storage of waste. An investigation was carried out with the participation of 2nd year students of the Medicine career as educators in a community, where patients with viral vector infection conditions reside, with the aim of preventing and reducing epidemics of vector-borne diseases. The following are proposed as solutions: develop an environmental culture, execute investments to develop efficient systems for treatment, effective and systematic work of communals and aqueducts, and increase educational talks; concluding that the deterioration of sanitation affects the quality of life of the population, being favorable for the proliferation of diseases, there is poor perception of risks and highlights the need for sanitation.
