Abstract

The work was carried out in the period from January to May of 2018; seven farms located in Imias (2), Niceto Pérez (4) and El Salvador (1) municipalities were selected, in which the coproparasitological diagnosis of 80 fecal samples from the ovine herd of the Pelibuey breed was printed, which were directly taken from the rectum of animals in well-identified nylon bags, with the aim of determining the degree of infestation of the main parasitic species in these locations. The results reported the presence of Strongylata, Coccidia, Strongyloides, Fasciola hepatica, Dictyocaulusy áscaris, with a degree of infestation of media (xx) to intense (xxx) in the localities of Cajobabo, La Yaya, Vilorio and Sabaneta of Guantanamo province, as well as the presence of Oestrusovis, lice and ticks in the studied farms. Practical recommendations were provided to establish a control of parasitism in sheep.
