Productive response of three varieties of Chickpea (Cicer arietinum, L.) in Guantánamo, Cuba

With the objective of evaluating the productive response of three varieties of chickpea (C. arietinum, L.) in Guantánamo, the following investigation was carried out on the farm of Remigio Leyva usufructuary, belonging to the Enrique Campo Caballero CCSF, located on the Caimanera highway. Km 5 (Hoyo de Maria), Popular Council of Carreteritas, Guantánamo municipality. The seeds were obtained from the UEB de Seeds, belonging to the Agro industrial Grain Company. The seeds were sown at a distance of 0.90 x 0.10m. To set up the experiment, an experimental design Random blocks with 3 treatments or varieties (JP-94, Blanco Sinaloa-92 and Nac. -27) and four repetitions was used. It was obtained as a result that the evaluated varieties responded satisfactorily to the edaphoclimatic conditions of Guantánamo. The most suitable variety was JP-94 with yields of 2,067 t. ha-1.
