Abstract

A qualitative study was conducted focused on the impact of environmental degradation, with an emphasis on fragile ecosystems, on the increase in antimicrobial resistance.  From the bibliographic inquiry, the primary information was obtained for the study of the scientific problem how to contribute to antimicrobial education associated with environmental care in the population, the conclusive elements of which were used for the foundation of a master's thesis in Infectious Diseases and the design of an action policy for antimicrobial education focused on the relationship between environmental degradation and increased antimicrobial resistance.  The suggested health promotion actions should promote comprehensiveness in the management of antimicrobials with a management in fragile ecosystems that favors a better environmental coexistence in the communities.
