Abstract

The process of profound and inevitable change that Cuban agriculture leads, due to an economic nature, forces us to conserve the environment or develop sustainable technologies based on scientific approaches. The training of a workforce with university and intermediate level qualifications generates a greater understanding for the sustainable management of agricultural ecosystems and comprehensive agricultural planning, seeking harmony of agricultural processes in compliance with social, environmental, economic and agricultural policies as a guarantee of food sustainability. The research addressed the occupation and location of the qualified workforce based on the importance for the agricultural sector and its decisive role in food security in the province; its main characteristics, composition and location in the entities of this sector in the province and its correspondence with the needs of each territory.
