With the objective of establishing a proposal for ecological restoration in a coastal and sub-coastal xeromorphic scrub, at the “El Rosal” site located in the semi-arid zone of the Guantánamo province, the flora was inventoried and characterized from which the horizontal and vertical structure was determined, as well as the alpha and beta diversity, results that allowed elaborating the proposal of ecological restoration of the site. The inventory yielded a total of 15 species belonging to 10 genres and 11 families, where the most ecologically important species were Guaiacum officinale L and Leucaena leucocephala L. As part of the restoration strategy, passive reforestation (natural regeneration) was proposed, forest enrichment with native species such as silvicultural techniques and the use of Guaiacum officinale L, Hebestigma cubense L, Cuban Albizia. Britton & Wilson in N. Amer., Lysiloma sabicu Benth for its ability to regenerate, grow and survive.
