Abstract

An investigation is carried out aimed to propose a procedure for evaluating the socio-economic impact on the Guantanamo territory development for a correct local contextualization of the results of science and technology.  For this purpose, the theoretical-statistical methods were used: Delphi method, Expert criteria, SPSS 21 and the empirical survey and interview methods.  The results obtained from the diagnostic instrument applied, allowed to know the social impact evaluation situation, showing that this aspect has not been systematized as a process that must be carried out as part of the institution management, and also evidences a strong level of ignorance of the workers on these issues, although they showed some interest in training and participating in the process, considering it important and necessary.
