Abstract

Animal parasitosis negatively affects the production, so the adequate use of antiparasitic agents is an efficient control (Luna, 2004, Sánchez, 2015). The work was carried out in four locations in Guantanamo province with the objective of identifying the parasitosis existing in Pelibuey ovines in such areas. The producers and decision makers of this breeding were interviewed; 250 samples of coprology were taken and sent to the laboratory for the validation and determination of the degree of infestation of the existing parasitosis that are affecting the Pelibuey ovines in La Punta, La Yaya, Vilorio and Cajobabo. The presence of the parasitic families Strnguylata, Coccidia, Stronguyloides, Mulleria, Oestrus Ovis, Lice, Ticks, Boopylus, Ditioculusvivipalus, ascaris was diagnosed. A total of 122 producers and decision makers of Pelibuey ovines were trained, taking the necessary measures to enhance the production of meat in the human diet.
