Abstract

The research was carried out in "Sierra Cristal" Agro-forestry Company from Segundo Frente municipality, Santiago de Cuba province, with the objective of estimating the potential of the biomass by means of traditional methods and allometric functions for the Pinus cubensis Griseb. To achieve this, the sample size and sampling intensity, the total biomass of the lots and their stands and the remaining biomass after harvesting were determined. It was also possible to determine the amount of essential oils and medicines that can be obtained from the biomass of the branches after the exploitation, as well as the economic valuation of these products in both CUC and CUP for each case.
