Abstract

The correct use of antiparasitic agents plays an important role in the control of parasitic diseases, so it must be well identified to prescribe the necessary medication, dosage, route of administration and duration. The work was carried out in localities of Nipe-Sagua-Baracoa group with the objective of determining the use of antiparasitic agents by producers of domestic animals. There were applied interviews to decision-makers and the staff working with the animals. The results determined that producers have a low level of knowledge concerning the application of the antiparasitic drugs so they do not achieve a good effectiveness of the applied medication. The laboratory reported the parasitosis: Haemonchus, Ascarie, Strongyloides, Coccidias, Moniezia, Fasciola Hepática so, measures were implemented for their control and the producers were trained on how to use the antiparasitic drugs rationally thus establishing a good relationship producer-animals- veterinarian.
