The research for this paper was carried out in the communities of La Bamba, Jagüeyón and Yambeque of the municipalities El Salvador and Yateras, in Guantánamo province, in the period January-November, 2016, where several species of flora and fawn, considered as bio-indicators of environmental quality were characterized. The vegetation studied was a forest, where trees like Cedar (Cedrelaodorata), Jobo (Spondiasmombin), Royal Palm (Roystonea regia), Citrus and others stand out, along with a rich flora of ferns, orchids, and abundant shrubs; the species best represented were birds, a total of 1830/ hour. In general all the species were abundant, proving the diversity and richness of species, as well as the possibility to use these species in later studies to carry out reforestation and recovery actions, contributing to better environmental quality.Downloads
