Abstract

The present work came true at Tropical Viands’ Research Institutes. It consisted in evaluating six new sweet potato clones: ‘INIVIT B 18’, ‘INIVIT B 12-9’, ‘INIVIT B 13-9’, ‘INIVIT B 14’, ‘INIVIT B 240-2010’ and ‘INIVIT B 16-2010’ and the commercial clones ‘CEMSA 78-354’ and ‘INIVIT B2-2005’, the ones that were regarded as control. The experimental design used was a block at random with four repetitions and eight treatments. The statistical parcel utilized Statistic SPSS (Packaged Social for Science), Version 18 for environment of Operating System Windows. When comparing winter's epoches and spring for population's in need percentage, independently of the clones, they did not encounter significant differences among both. It could be determined than in the epoch of winter the clone the fact that more shoot turned off the field was the ‘INIVIT B2-2005’ (40,25 days) with significant differences in relation to the rest of the evaluated clones.
