Abstract

The work was carried out in Limonar the Monte Ruz Community of, located in El Salvador municipality in Guantánamo city, in the period January to November of 2014, with the objective to characterice the upbringing birds corral in the families yards. An exploratory, descriptive investigation was used, not experimental. It worked with 54 producers devoted to the upbringing of corral birds. By means of the diagnose it was determined the main races exploded in the backyard, as well as the handling, feeding and health of the animals. The results showed the bigger incorporation from the woman to this activity, with the prevalence of the creole race in these rural properties, 22.2% is devoted to the upbringing of ducks, 13% to turkey and 5.6 % dedicate part from its time to the guineo breeding. The illnesses of more incidences were: the Oxipirurosis, the Coriza aviar, Viruela aviar and the parasitic illnesses.
