Abstract

A diagnostic was carried out concerning the productive situation of the agricultural cooperative The Caiman, Manamito Island. It was detected that the cooperatives were seriously affected in all the agro-productive indicators, influenced mainly for loss of the production capacity of the ground outrageously acidified. A process of training with directives and members of the cooperative with the purpose of changing the existing situation with the introduction of buffalo raising for double purpose, as well as the deep study of soil, water and vegetation of its piece of land. This allows identifying a schedule of training activities with the local university and the cooperation of Guantanamo University, Cuba. Nowadays, the cooperative shows an improvement of the production indicators of cheese and meat, achieving an increase of its capacities to face the challenge of sustained agricultural productions under environmental complicated conditions in that region of Orinoco Delta.
