Abstract

The Guantánamo Polygraphic Center is one of the centers with the highest electricity consumption in the territory. The use of one of its roofs for the installation of photovoltaic panels contributes to the reduction in the consumption of such an important energy carrier and is aligned with the sustainable development objectives and the 2030 agenda approved by the United Nations Due to its geographical location, Cuba must take full advantage of the photovoltaic potential it receives from the main source of light and heat, the sun. This work shows the main results achieved in 18 months of operation and its contribution to the decrease in electrical demand and its contribution to the National Electroenergy System and its impact on the reduction of greenhouse gases.
