Abstract

The present work was carried out from 2022 to 2023 in the Quivijan hydrographic sub-basin, belonging to the Popular Council of the same name, Baracoa municipality, Guantánamo province, with the objective of characterizing the current state of the Quivijan sub-basin through a diagnosis. Different scientific research methods were used. The type of study was essentially exploratory. The main results demonstrated that: the current state of the Quivijan hydrographic basin reflected a trend towards depopulation, incited by various factors related to the aging of the current population, the lack of continuity and little or no availability of labor force to carryout agricultural work.
