Abstract

The work was carried out on the farm of the producer Maricel Merencio Pérez, belonging to the UBPC Armando Pelegrín, of the San Antonio del Sur Municipality, Guantánamo Province, with the objective of determining the tree structure in cocoa agroecosystems. The flora species were surveyed and 10 randomly distributed sampling points were selected for the study of the tree mass. Dasometric variables and ecological parameters such as abundance, frequency and relative dominance were evaluated. The importance value index of the species was also evaluated. The Fabaceae family was the one with the largest number of species. The bucaro, flowering pine nut and sweet orange stood out. The higuereta, the búcaro, the mapén, the Leucaena, the guanina and the palm were the most dominant species.
