Abstract

The objective of this research is to determine the degree of application of agroecological practices in the Valle Grande and Los Mangos farms, located in the communities of El Peral and Mongomery, respectively, in Guantánamo province.  A diagnosis was made of the agricultural practices applied to determine their limitations and potential, using the following parameters as a guide: Geo-referencing; Conservation and Protection of Ecosystems and Biodiversity; Improvement of Soil Life, Harvesting and Water Management; Agroecological Management of Pests and Proper Waste Management. The results obtained showed that agroecological practices are not used, which results in the loss of biodiversity and damages the agroecosystem in general. The solution to reverse this situation was the creation of an action plan to implement the adequate use and management of agroecological practices.
