Abstract

The objective of the research is to determine the vulnerability of the eastern region to the occurrence of Severe Local Storms and severity events through the reports collected from 1980 to 2020, to contribute to the efficiency in its forecast and consequently, mitigate the possible damage they cause. From which a database was created where charts of the distribution of reports were processed and constructed by years, months, severity events and by provinces. The results highlight that the province of Holguín presents a greater number of reports, being more vulnerable; the months with the highest occurrence of events are July and May, where hail and strong linear winds are the events with the highest incidence. The results are of great value for the application of preventive measures aimed at reducing the risk and damage caused by these natural disasters.
