Abstract

Due to the burning of fossil fuels, for the generation of electricity it has brought great problems to the environment due to the generation of polluting gases such as CO2. In this sense, to obtain a balance or eradicate this contamination, different renewable sources were used worldwide, which has had an increase since 1990. Highlight that the most efficient ones are always used, such as hydraulic energy. For all the aforementioned, this article aims to decrease 1273.6Ton CO2, which is not emitted into the atmosphere by hydroelectric facilities in the province of Guantánamo, and the income of $ 219,44 -Ton CO2 that has been stopped entering to the UEB Guantánamo Hydropower Company for this concept. Among the main impacts is that these external revenues are not accounted for in the economic department of this entity.
