Abstract

The present study was carried out in San Antonio del Sur and Baracoa municipalities, which have been defined as intervention areas of the project "Support to the productive chain of the cocoa in the East Rural-Guantánamo", municipalities that constitute reference for the province and the country because of its contribution to different economic lines that distinguish itself and contribute, in a significant way, to the socio-economic development of the territory. The general objective of the investigation is: To systematize the practices of the cocoa value chain in Guantánamo like contribution to the useful knowledge management for local development. Theoretical, empirical and statistics methods were applied to fulfill the objective. The main actors participating in the cocoa value chain in Guantánamo province, the links and their mapping, as well as a summary of the experiences obtained and good practices are the most relevant results for this work
