The climate change-hurricane relationship seen since Hurricane Matthew.
Keywords:
climate change, tropical cyclones, fragile ecosystemsAbstract
Among the issues of concern to researchers are climate change and hurricanes, with their causes and consequences, as well as actions to mitigate their damage. One of the main effects of climate change is the increase in intensity of hurricanes, which with their dangerous elements cause great socioeconomic damage and the natural resources of the areas through which they transit. Hurricane Matthew is the first of great intensity that hit Guantanamo province negatively impacting it, so it is important to describe the relationship climate change-intensity of tropical cyclones. The data of the study were compiled from official sources of the Institute of Meteorology, images taken from the Cuban Network of Meteorological Radars and provincial reports on the effects caused by this system. The results of the study of this tropical organism reafirm the relation climate change-hurricanes and their devastating impact on ecosystemsDownloads
