Abstract

The forest inventory is the fundamental tool in the decision making within a management plan, being the estimate of the usable volume in foot of one of its main objectives. In the forests, these activities have become a complex task when quantifying the volumes that can be used for a given industry. The Agricultural and Forestry Company "Sierra Cristal", Segundo Frente Municipality, evaluated the metric parameters to estimate the performance of the wood in bolus and sawing, from the dendrometric variables in the stands of Pinus cubensis Griseb and used models where it was showed that the highest degree for the dependent variable volume of wood in bolus and sawn wood are the logarithmic ones.
