Abstract

To know the trend of the population of Raoiella indica, samples were taken from the UBPC "Roberto Blet Alpajón", belonging to Baracoa municipality from October 2008 to March 2009, at Cocos nucifera plants. The populations of R. indica were located preferably on the underside of the leaves and the greatest affectations were observed in the middle part of the leaflets. A similar proportion was observed between the different phytophagous phases. The population of R. indica ranged from 102.23 mites.foliole-1 in January and 432.4 mites.foliolo-1 March. The predominant phytoseiid species was Amblyseius largoensis.
