Abstract

This paper presents partial results of the Institutional Investigative Project, aimed at the development of the socio-humane competence in health professionals, carried out at the University of Medical Sciences of Guantánamo since 2016. The procedures for this research are those of a qualitative investigation and they allow characterizing the relationship among the development of the socio-humane competence, the pacific coexistence and the environmental management in health professionals, and population in general. The concept was defined by means of bibliographical research, and using other investigative methods we identified its level and established the research problem; possible solution ways were designed to strengthen the competence, so the objective was set in designing alternatives to develop the competence in the dimensions that the human existence demands at present.
