Abstract

The investigation was developed in the Popular Council "Costa Rica", Guantanamo, Cuba, among the years 2013 and 2014, with the objective of upgrading the characterization of the current agricultural vocation of the use of its soils. The evaluation of lands was carried out according to suggestions of the FAO, for eight representative cultivations, through the software ALES. The obtained results allowed determining the current use of the land, their use conflicts and the grade of representativeness of these inside the acceptability capability of the territory. As results one has that 39,8% of the lands of the Council is of high evaluations of this indicator against 6,6% of lands, with low evaluations by high impact, not acceptable for incompatibility with the several cultivations. 53,5% remaining presents ranges means with possible localizations with low aptitude and compatible with limitations for the establishment of the several cultivations.
