Abstract

The present investigation was carried out in the Bioterio, belonging to the Mountain Development Center and in selected towns, located in the municipality El Salvador of the county Guantanamo. The species Centruroides gracilis (Latreille, 1804) is broadly distributed in America, mainly from the southeast of the USA to Venezuela, included the Antillean islands of Cuba and Jamaica (Fet & Lowe, 2000; Teruel, 2008). With the objective of carrying out the evaluation of the reproduction of the species of Centruroides gracilis in the hatchery in captivity, individuals were collected that they were separated by sexes and the females were observed to define if they were or not gestated, and a database was made. As results of the investigation: they were carried out introductions to the natural means of the species Centruroides gracilis with a total of 1095 individuals in the year 2013 and a total of 940 individuals in 2014 obtained in captivity.
