Contribution to the prevention program of brucellosis in Venezuela.

Abstract

The objective was evaluating the achievement of the prevention program of brucellosis in Isla Manamito and Isla Cocuina settlements during the period of January 2013 to December 2014. A participatory rural diagnostic was made to collect the social, productive and environmental information that allow the researchers to analyze integrally the raising system of buffalo mass. The results indicated that the sanitary hygienic measures are not achieved, the 33 % of producers do not use or have the protection means for avoiding the disease transmission, and the 70 % of producers never had received qualification that’s why there were high risks of disease transmission. It was concluded that producers do not achieve or know the prevention program of brucellosis in the study settlements, for that reason it was proposed a program which use the prevention program that prevents possible risks of disease outpouring.
