Abstract

The research was conducted to understand the causes and conditions that generate the Severe Local Storms and contribute to efficiency in its forecast and mitigate the economic and social damage caused aggravating climate change in different ecosystems in the period 1980-2011; whose expression is manifested by its richness and endemism, where they were found typical configurations that adopt the wind and temperature fields to mesoscale, constituting an unprecedented effort in Cuba. The result showed the two determinants where it starts and develops the deep convection: ageostrophic flow and temperature difference. The physical characteristics - Geographical cause these fields adopt different configurations under the influence of each of the synoptic patterns favorable for the occurrence of local severity, found two fundamental areas as heat sources for the development of deep convection.
