Abstract

The work was carried out in the Communities of Cupeyal and San Juan located in the municipality El Salvador, county Guantanamo, in the period January-October of the 2013, with the objective of characterizing the current state of the animal upbringing in both ecosystems. It was worked with 25 producing of San Juan community and Cupeyal belonging to the CCS Luís A. Carbo and Sixto Acosta respectively. By means of the diagnostic, the main problematic related with the handling, the feeding and health of the animals were identified in the towns in study. The results showed that most of those producing of these communities presents a system of faulty feeding, that which impacts in the drop productivity of their animals and frequent presence of illnesses, standing out the parasitic ones as those of more incidence. In both communities the veterinary service showed deficiencies.
