Socio-technological-productive situation of the culture of the coconut tree in the municipality Baracoa.

Abstract

In Cuba, the municipality Baracoa of the Guantánamo county, stores the biggest volume in the national production of coconut, the same one it  has shown decrease in its productions that it go from 21 298 to 11 546 tons that are reached at the present time. The obtaining of good levels of productivity in the coconut tree depends on several factors, among those that are the climate, the genetic factor, the agronomic handling related with the socioeconomic level of the producer and the market. With the objective of to determine the actual state of the coconut tree plantation in the socio-technological-productive dimensions in the municipality Baracoa of the County Guantánamo, was carried out a Rural Diagnostic Participative using the non experimental investigation, to longitudinal designs. The results threw loss of the culture toward the cultivation of the coconut tree that doesn't assure the productive force, as well as an aging of the active labour force dedicated directly to the agricultural production.
