Abstract

The work was developed in the Center of Development of the Mountain located in the municipality El Salvador, county Guantánamo, in the period understood among March - Diciembre/2010. With the objective of achieving the multiplication in vitro of yam (Dioscorea sp) they were carried out several experiments in the different phases of the micropropagación. The results obtained in the disinfection of the nodal segments of yam were achieved with hipoclorito of sodium to 2.5% during 15 minutes with 60% of survival. The most effective concentration in 6 - BAP was of 2.0 mg.L -1, I reach the biggest number of yolks for explante 2.9 and the longitude of the shaft of 3.9 cm. The acclimatization of the vitroplantas it was achieved with the sustratum pulp  coffe: sand (1:1),  percentage survival 95% and height 7.72 cm.
