Abstract

It was inventoried the existent medicinal species in communities of two municipalities, related them with the main illnesses that affect the residents of the same ones, to establish banks of medicinal plants and to develop a group of actions that they allowed to elevate the knowledge on the thematic one and to contribute to that doesn't get lost this important tradition. As results of the work the presence of 158 species of medicinal plants of 64 botanical families was evidenced, recognized by the residents of the El Salvador municipality and 168 species of 72 families in Manuel Tames. 23 banks of medicinal plants that will allow to have scientifically identified material and the conservation of these species settled down. The implemented educational strategies contributed from a positive way to the elevation of the knowledge it has more than enough important aspects that were not within reach of the residents.
