Influence of the phenological phase of the bean plant (Phaseoulus vulgaris L) in the incidence of Tetranychus tumidus (Banks)
Keywords:
T. tumidus; Phaseolus vulgaris; Velazco LargoAbstract
The effects of Tetranychus tumidus on the early phenological stages of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) var. Velazco Largo were studied in biological isolators. In each sampling, a leaf was extracted from the intermediate zone, and the number of mites present was determined. Subsequently, 10 weeks later, when the experiment concluded, different variables were measured. Analysis of variance was performed on the recorded data, and means were separated using Duncan's multiple range test. It was determined that in the "Velasco Largo" common bean variety, the greatest impact from T. tumidus occurs in the initial growth stages, where plant height, leaf surface area, and the number and weight of pods are reduced, particularly during the first trifoliate leaf stage (V3).
