Abstract

The investigation was carried out in the UBPC Alfonso Escalante Villa, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guantánamo. Two stages were carried out: Characterization of the production system that materializes in the UBPC Alfonso Escalante Villa, and Design of a strategy to increase food availability in the CCS 30 de Noviembre. The results of the diagnosis allowed us to consider 14 main problems that limit the production and availability of food from a general problem bank of 31 problems. In the productive scenario occupied by the UBPC, there is potential to correct more than 50% of the existing problems, a strategic plan is presented in two aspects: the set of actions to be carried out by producers, and local agricultural management of decision-makers, with 7 tasks and 24 actions that should contribute to the production and availability of food in the short, medium and long term until 2030.
