Proposal for improvement the charcoal processing in the Unit for Processing and Commercialization in Contramaestre

Abstract

The investigative work was carried out in the Unit for Processing and Commercialization in Contramaestre, belonging to the America Libre Agroindustrial Company. For the collection of information, scientific methods and techniques were applied, such as the modeling of business processes in the TIBCO software using the BPMN notation, direct observation, cause-effect diagram, specialist consultation, among others. It was obtained, as a result that, at the business level, the sale of coal for export is not fulfilled by 68.0%, due to the inefficiency in its production processes, by highlighting as main problems the existence of sieves with technical difficulties, long delay between activities, idle time of operators, among others. In addition, the improvement proposals for the organization that will facilitate decision making, performance improvement, cost reduction, unproductive times and increased compliance with the sales plan were projected.
