Productive response of chard (Beta vulgaris var. cicla L.), at different planting distances and pruning frequency under field conditions
Keywords:
Chard; Productivity; Pruning; Planting distanceAbstract
To evaluate the productivity of chard at different planting distances and pruning frequency, the research was carried out on a randomized block design with 5 treatments and 3 repetitions. The comparison of the means was made with the Tukey test at 5% probability of error. The cultural attentions provided for the crop were carried out according to Technical Standards described in the Organoponic and intensive Gardens Technical Manual. The height of the plant, number and length of the leaf, nothing fresh and yield were evaluated. In the treatments where pruning was carried out and sowed at a distance of 0,25 m (T3) and 0,45 m (T5), the yield were higher with 6,07 and 5,99 t.ha-1. Economically these treatments reported the highest profits with $ 10 774.20 and $ 10 574.20, and a benefit/cost ratio of $ 2.45 y $ 2.40.
