Abstract

The research was carried out between the years 2017-2020 in the Manuel Támes de Guantánamo sugar company, its objective is to propose energy integration actions to raise the quality of technical alcohol A. Energy consumption was analyzed in two systems, in the first we obtained a pressure greater than atmospheric of 0.158 Pa and in the second of 0.0225 Pa in the production of rectified fine alcohols, improving the conditions of influence in energy integration, in the fermentation and distillation areas, the conventional distillation scheme has higher rates of heat requirement of 1857.52 KW and cold 807.61KW. This takes better advantage of thermal integration with a heat index of 2512.71 KW and a cold index of 1347.96 KW. The minimum consumption of utilities obtained meant a saving of 52% for the double effect distillation scheme and 75% for conventional distillation.
