Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the factors influencing the knowledge and use of tree resources by agricultural producers. The sample consisted of 58 cases. A factor analysis was performed using principal components (PC) and the systems were typified. The factors that explained 70,25 % of the variance were: knowledge of trees and technologies, age and experience, area and land use, number of cows, and knowledge of protein plants and species and activities in live fences. 77.5 % of the producers were typified as producers with a medium amount of land and low knowledge, 12.0 % possessing a smaller amount of land, more experience and little knowledge, 6.8 % of the cases with a greater amount of land and middle knowledge and the 3.4 % of the producers were characterized by having a medium amount of land and greater knowledge.
