Abstract

Results of the Project for the development of human capital in health, in execution by the University of Medical Sciences Guantánamo since 2019, are presented. The indiscriminate use of antimicrobials in ecosystems generates a boomerang effect in the environment, a topic about which a study between September 2019-March 2021. With empirical, theoretical and mathematical methods, primary information was obtained on the state of the indiscriminate use of antimicrobials in ecosystems, its effect on the environment and the role of clinical lab technicians in its mitigation.  From references and current theoretical foundations on the subject, the scientific problem was identified on how to contribute to the impact in the fight against the boomerang effect of antimicrobials in the environment?  As a solution, a policy of environmental educational actions was suggested for the performance of the corresponding role in environmental health
