Characterization of the bird assembly in the semi-deciduous microphyllous forest of the Baitiquirí Ecological Reserve

The investigation took place in the Baitiquirí Ecological Reserve to characterize the bird assembly associated with the semi-deciduous microphyllous forest from September 2017 to May 2018. The transect sampling was the method chosen, establishing 10 transects of 20 m width by 1000 m long, within it 10 points were established with a distance of 100 m among them. In each sampling unit, all birds seen or heard were inventoried for 10 min. There were 36 species of birds, grouped into 11 orders, 20 families and 27 genera, the Passeriformes order was the most representative and in the Parulidae family, 22.2% of the total species studied were found. The most abundant bird species in the semi-deciduous forest are Chlorostilbon ricordii, Todus multicolor and Melopyrrha nigra.
