In vitro germination of Dendrocereusnudiflorus (Wright) Britton & Rosey plant acclimatization.

A methodology is established for the in vitro propagation of Dendrocereusnudiflorus, endemic cactus species of Cuba in danger of extinction. The disinfection of seeds with 20% and 40% sodium hypochlorite (v / v) and the MS culture medium (25% and 50% salts) were evaluated. In the acclimatization phase, different proportions of soil and sheep manure (3: 1, 5: 1 and 7: 1) were evaluated, combined or not with Rhizophagusintraradic mycorrhiza. Germination percentages of 98% were obtained 45 days after sowing. The MS medium with 25% salts favored the germination value index. In acclimatization an average survival percentage of 76% was obtained at 30 days without differences between treatments. These results indicate that the in vitro culture method developed may be a route for the recovery of the species.Downloads
