Abstract

To evaluate the growth behavior of the Moringa oleifera forage tree, under the effect of three densities of plantations in grazing area, the present work was carried out in the semi-arid conditions of the Comuna de Humbe, province of Cunene, Angola. The seedlings used were produced and selected from the nursery to be transplanted into the final field. The random block design was used with three treatments and 4 replicates; the treatments were plantation densities: 625; 1 111 and 2 500 plants.ha-1. The growth of plant heights, stem diameter, number of primary branches and number of shoots were evaluated. The densities of 1 111 and 2 500 plants.ha-1, respectively presented the highest values in the number of shoots and lowest values in the rest of the variables in relation to the density of 625 plants.ha-1.
