Abstract

As part of Tarea Vida State Plan and through two community planning workshops facilitated by professors attached to the University of Guantánamo, representatives of the Alejandro Humboldt Environmental Services Unit and international colleagues, spaces for dialogue and analysis were created to identify changes in the climate, its impacts and concrete actions to strengthen communities. To carry out the work, an adaptation was made of the methodology of Local Planning for Early Action (Local Early Action Planning) developed among scientists and community members of Micronesia. The final product is a Community Plan for Adaptation to Climate Change prepared and implemented by the community with local resources and capacities. This article summarizes the experience of these processes in the communities of Boca de Miel and Naranjo del Toa, Baracoa municipality, Guantanamo, which took place between January 10 and 18, 2018.
